I had a marvelous EBC experience. I would take this opportunity to give a big thanks to Mantra Abroad Holiday for arranging the complete package and staying connected with all the trekkers throughout the journey. While looking for trek agencies online, I came across some well known and some never heard before organisations. Of course, prices charged by them was the next automatic factor I focussed as a 'consumer' while connecting with them. What I particularly liked about Mantra is the responsiveness and a bit of eagerness to inform the consumers. I took a gambit in a hunch even though I knew my own friend's organisation was conducting the very same EBC trek with a significantly cheaper rate. I even came across a group which was being led by an Indian Everester herself. But boy, oh boy, did that pay off! After making the booking, Mantra has remained in touch thoroughly and showed patience everytime I wanted to clarify something or ask any simple details regarding the trek. They always have been there to help. Now, after the trek started, the guide (Kiran Rai) and the porter brothers (Pemba and Passang) were more than helpful everytime we were seeking help. Kiran is that kind of a guide who actually makes all the difference when the tough time comes. When I had a diarrhoea on the way, he was patient and tried to take care of me. In my humble experience of hikings, I have only come across such dedicated guide twice. On a 12-14 days long trek like this, your equation with guide becomes crucial and I can conclude that we became kinda close despite the age gap and all the possible differences. In my pursuit of Sagarmatha base camp and Kalapathhar, he was truly an important factor for the success. On our pursuit, we shared suggestions regarding hotels in Namche Bazar, basically we wanted a different hotel while coming down, and the guide obliged happily. I want to finish this rather long review with a particular incident where I felt exactly how me choosing Mantra paid off. Basically, while leaving for Lukla from Ramechaap, there was weather issue for which flights were getting cancelled for consecutive days (yea, it's a nightmare while going to/from Lukla) and our day was no exception. In front of the risking the entire schedule, they have arranged alternative travel module without charging us any significant amount, which is a huge huge huge thing to do where people pay hundreds of dollars for the same. Of course, I have fallen in love with Nepal by the end of the trip but also Mantra travel remains another reason to take up another trekking trip in this region.

Everything had been organised perfectly. Our family went on EBC trek with a 4 yrs and a 12 yrs old. With the kids we were little worried but more hopeful of having a great time and it could not have been any better. Right from the moment we landed in Kathmandu, Deepak ji took very good care of all the needs and comfort. On the trek, we had the best porters and guide who were always encouraging us and were flexible with the itinerary. They were always ready to go beyond the boundaries to help us make our dream possible. Many thanks to all those porters for making this possible.
