Bungee Jump and Canyoning Tour

Bungee jumping is a thrilling activity of jumping from a tall structure with a large elastic cord. Usually, the tall structure is a fixed object but it is also possible to jump from a movable object, such as a hot-air-balloon or helicopter, that has the ability to hover above the ground. The thrill comes as much from the free-falling as from the rebounds. When the person jumps, the cord stretches and the jumper flies upwards again as the cord snaps back, and continues to oscillate up and down until all the energy is dissipated. Among a plenty of adventurous games, bungee jumping is also one that really needs a great courage. Just the dream can’t help any jumpers. They must be with sound health. That is the reason the fanatic will be questioned about his/her health matters. One must meet the stated criteria if thinks for bungee jumping. Many world renowned gorges are possible to be found in different parts of the world and their fame lie in their own uniqueness. Likewise, the ultimate thrill of a bungee jump can now be experienced in Nepal at perhaps the best site in the world.

Nepal's first and the only bungee jumping site is located of three hours’ drive from Kathmandu and close to the Nepal-Tibet border. This measures 160m over the wild Bhote Koshi river. The jump, at 160m, was designed by one New Zealand's bungee consultant, and is operated by some of the most experienced jump masters in the business. One can be injured during a jump only if the safety harness fails, the cord elasticity is miscalculated, or the cord is not properly connected to the jump platform. They take every possible precaution very seriously to prevent the human loss. Their safety is the main concern.

Location: Less than 3 hours' drive outside Kathmandu, you will travel the Arniko (Kathmandu/Lhasa) Highway to the Tibet Border and the famous Friendship Bridge.

The Gorge: Ultimate Bungee Nepal takes place on a 166m wide steel suspension bridge over the Bhoti Kosi River.
The Bridge: Swiss designed, specially for bungee jumping with a 4x safety factor. The bridge has a loading factor of 250kg per running meter. This means that the bridge will hold 250 x 166 = 41,500kg or 4.5 tones. And those are Swiss measurements! * Over 6000 meters of steel wire was used to build the bridge * the bridge joins two sides of a great valley. Before its construction, locals walked five hours to cross this river gorge.

Canyoning:
Canyoning involves going down beautiful but sometimes steep waterfalls, swimming in narrow gorges, jumping down as many as ten metres or more in deep waterways and if required, knowing what to do to help anyone who may be in difficulty under the waterfall or in the depths of water. Being so different, canyoning cannot be assimilated to rafting or rock climbing. This sport comes closer to resembling the exploration of caves (i.e. speleology - caving) using in this case a vertical rope descent under sometimes through thick and heavy waterfalls (to depths of up to 140 meters as in the Marsyangdhi canyons) This is where being an expert swimmer is a necessity. Canyoning also requires of technical and specialized equipment and gear which are unlikely to be available in Nepal such as, for example, exothermic suits and special ascending/descending systems in stainless steel etc. Amongst the canyoning hotspots in Nepal is Bhotekoshi Valley. This is a stunning destination, several tributaries join up to the Bhotekoshi and there are numerous canyoning routes.
Other areas where canyoning can be enjoyed are Sundarijal, Panglang Khola, Kanglang Khola and Bhukuthe Khola. So why not make your journey to Nepal the trip of a lifetime by booking yourself on a canyoning excursion.
